theres only here. theres only now.

So I've been MIA from the blog world for a while now and there is more than one reason for my disappearance. First off, my life has been pretty boring. As funny as it is that my recent experience with self-tanner resulted in brown polka dots all over my body, I didn't necessarily think it was of importance to post at the time. And I did not want my blog to turn into a public forum of my most humiliating moments...so thats all you're getting.

I think I was kind of in denial about my new boring life until I was quickly brought back to reality last weekend. You see, now that I'm home, I spend an awful lot of time with my parents. And don't get me wrong here, I LOVE spending time with them (especially after being away at college for so long) but it has kinda gotten to the point that they are pretty much the ONLY people I hang out with. Exhibit A - last weekend I went to Bay Days with my parents and the next day came across a wall post from my mom (written with the best of intentions) that said "love hanging out with you at Bay Days." Does that make me a loser? Yeah, kind of.

So you are probably wondering what I HAVE been spending my time doing. Well that answer is simple...eating. Literally. Not joking - my pants do not fit anymore. I wish I could tell you I have been training for the half marathon I've added to my "to-do" list or even the 5k I'm signed up for in October. Or that I finally landed a sweet job that will get me back in the Big Apple. But no, I have done quite the opposite. However, I haven't been completely wasteful of my time. I'm in the process of adding Hampton Roads to my food blog (check back on that soon) and I've combined forces with my sister to finally get Lil Tubbies Bake Shop up and running (at least on etsy) so that you can finally order some of those delicious desserts delivered to your doorstep - just click here.

I really can't complain too much about this much-needed break. Never in my life has my number 1 priority been simply to "rest and get better." I gotta say, it's kinda nice, especially when the medicine that is supposed to make you better, makes you sick. Plus, I know this is just the calm before the storm. Life is about to get pretty crazy...
